About Us

story

TAWC has empowered over 2000 women and youth and raised over 100 leaders globally so far...

Millicent Adoboe (Founder-TAWC), after her university education, struggled to get a job due to the high rate of unemployment, limited opportunities, inequalities and insufficient skills to meet industry demands.

This situation challenged her to start an empowerment program (The Achieving Woman Conference) focusing on building the capacity of women to make them fit for the market and later on founded The Achieving Woman Consult in 2014, a firm into women’s empowerment. After she finally landed a job, at work one beautiful day, she collapsed (had a blackout) and was rushed to the hospital.

Not knowing how she got there, she asked, ‘What am I doing here?’ and the response from her husband was, ‘You had a blackout.’. Upon a series of tests, she was finally diagnosed with a near-death malnutrition disease—anemia After recovering from the use of the nutritious herb-turkey berry, locally grown in her community and introduced by her doctor-she quit her job and decided to do her empowerment programs full time.

Along the way, she also started an agribusiness with her spouse by empowering smallholder women farmers and the youth in rural communities to grow and process turkey berries (the plant that improved her nutrition) to solve some of the malnutrition issues in her community and across the Globe.

To her, health and Wellness became a critical part of a more holistic approach to achieving one’s goals in life.

Today, under her leadership through her empowerment programs, she has empowered over 2000 women and youth, raised over 100 leaders and 15 entrepreneurs who can move and shake their spaces with dumbfounding solutions. Millicent Adoboe currently leads over 350 women and youth on her WhatsApp platform coupled with access to relevant business and career opportunities, capacity-building programs, access to markets, etc. She champions initiatives like The Achieving Woman Conference, The Achieving Show and other Empowerment Webinars. She owns businesses-Milliado Enterprise in Ghana and co-owns Achiever Foods Ltd.in Ghana and USA.

She works with a strong team of vibrant and energetic women and youth.

Millicent is happily married to Bright Adoboe. She is a business consultant with over a decade of experience in helping small and micro businesses across Africa start, scale and build systems that are sustainable. Millicent is a preacher of the gospel and believes she has been called to empower women to fulfil their God given mandate in the marketplace.
